Third-Party AI Disclosure

You are never required to connect an AI provider key. Without one, receipt upload and attachment work exactly the same — you simply enter the vendor, date, amount, and category yourself.

• Your key is stored encrypted in our database, tied to your account only
• When you use the scan feature, the receipt image you upload is sent directly to the AI provider you selected (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google), using your key, to extract vendor, date, amount, and suggested category
• Usage of your key — and any cost associated with it — is billed by that provider directly to your account with them, not to us

Once your receipt image is sent to your chosen AI provider, that provider's own privacy policy and terms of service govern how they handle that data. We do not control, and are not responsible for, how OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google stores, retains, or processes data on their end. Review their respective policies if you have concerns about a specific provider's data handling.

You can remove your connected API key at any time from your account settings. Once removed, we no longer have access to it and the scan feature stops working until you reconnect a key.
